Insurance
Currently, I accept Premera, Lifewise, and some Blue Cross Blue Shield plans. I am in the process of obtaining my credentialing with other insurance companies.
If you have health insurance, I recommend confirming with your provider as to whether or not you have out of network mental health coverage. If you have out of network mental health coverage, I can provide you with a receipt of services, also called a superbill. You can submit your superbill to your insurance company for potential reimbursement of all, or a portion, of what you spend out of pocket while in therapy.
When you contact your insurance company, these are good questions to ask:
Do I have out of network mental health benefits? If I do, is telehealth covered?
If yes, what percentage of the cost do you reimburse?
Do I have a deductible I must pay before I get reimbursed? If yes, what is the deductible amount? Has my deductible been met yet?
How many sessions per year are covered?
Is a prior authorization from my Primary Physician required?
How/Where can I submit a superbill?
Good Faith Estimate
You are entitled to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” that explains how much your medical care will cost.
It is the law that health care providers need to give patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This can include relevant costs including mental health assessments and therapy sessions.
You can ask your provider for the Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an appointment with them. I recommend requesting this at least one business day before your scheduled appointment.
If you ever receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute that bill!
Always save your Good Faith Estimate!
