Insurance

Although I do not take insurance, I am currently in the process of getting paneled with Premera Blue Cross and expect to be able to start taking clients with this insurance by February 2026.

If you have health insurance, I recommend contacting your provider to confirm whether or not you have out of network mental health coverage. If you do, I can provide you with a receipt of services, also known as a superbill, that you can submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement of all, or a portion, of what you pay out of pocket while in therapy.

When contacting your insurance company, ask the following questions:

  1. Do I have out of network mental health benefits? If I do, is telehealth covered?

  2. If yes, what percentage of the cost do you reimburse?

  3. Do I have a deductible I need to pay before I get reimbursed? If yes, what is the deductible amount? Has my deductible been met?

  4. How many sessions per year are covered?

  5. Is a prior authorization from my Primary Physician required?

  6. How/Where can I submit a superbill?

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • Make sure your healthcare provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
